    I'm living in NZ were prices for these are unfortunately higher than in the UK. They go for about 40000 NZD (about 20000 GBP) with about 180000 KM (112000 miles) on the clock. I hope someone can help me out getting an idea if 180000km is considered already high mileage for a 2012 Vogue TDV8 or, if service maintenance has been top notch, its nothing to worry too much about? Thanks for the help!

    Good review. I ordered mine in the Netherlands, I am Dutch. The mpg challenge was fun, yet, gives a bit of a one-sided view now. Noise reduction should also be tested when you accelerate more fiercely. Glad you are positive. The 12V battery should also be better, overcoming starting problems in 2021 version.

    The Defender 300Tdi 90 is most nimble due to the short wheel base. Off road it behaves like a small donkey almost able to climb anything if you know the correct way to use the gearbox, low ratio and diff lock. They are great trucks to own and you can just hose them out. My ex-wife loved driving it, transporting multiple dogs. .But , like a Yorkie bar, they are not for girls.

    Why is there not a single mention of what kind of unreliable piece of shit Range Rovers are? How they top nearly every list in the states under "lemon laws" since so many have a parade of issues that keep them in the shop most of the year for over 70% of owners.

    • @BuckleUpShow

      Well it would be weird to mention those things when most of them are not true, or it's probably fairer to call them massive exaggerations. 1 in ever 328000 Land Rover products gets rejected within it's warranty period as being a lemon, the proportion is similar for cars that have spent extended amounts of time at the dealer. But also, most importantly, we couldn't give a toss what Yanks think about car reliability, because you let the dealers con you into "convenient" service intervals that don't actually maintain the vehicles.

      @@BuckleUpShow Most not true? Massive exaggerations? Clearly you're living in a willful disconnect from reality. J.D Powers ranks Land Rover 27 out of 29 brands on its 2024 Vehicle Dependability Study, which looks at the number of problems in three year old vehicles. RepairPal ranks Land Rover 31 or of 32 car brands, taking into account more trips to the repair shop, higher repair costs and greater repair severity. Consumer Reports ranks them DEAD LAST in reliability. Where 70% of owners have them in the shop within the first year of ownership for non-routine maintenance. None of the data suggests anything do with "convenient" dealer suggested service intervals. Facts, stubborn things aren't they?

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow 3 дня назад

      So you agree you exaggerated then, as before you said 70% of them spent "most of the year" in the shop. You also didn't bother bringing up reliability surveys before, which is why I didn't bother to explain that something can be comparatively low and still objectively fine. Yes Range Rovers are demanding to run, like most luxury cars are, the real problem in the UK isn't maintenance it's insurance

    Most of your criticisms about the car are because you are overweight, the suspension soaks up bumps at slow speed for me and the seats give lots of back support. Have you ever thought about going on a diet?

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow 5 дней назад

      So the clutch is weird because I’m fat too? By the way, my extra cushioning should actually help with the suspension. Have you ever thought about how everyone can see your subscriptions? Some very questionable choices in there, Matt…

    • @Matt-df6hz
      @Matt-df6hz 5 дней назад

      @@BuckleUpShow Well yup the clutch is weird for you, for me it works perfectly fine, so I'm not sure how you are finding it to be an issue, sure you don't feel a biting point but the car still vibrates at the point the clutch is engaging and the computer seems to do a good job of keeping everything smooth. But seriously, for your own benefit losing some weight might be good for your health. The extra cushioning isn't helping the suspension, it is compressing the suspension to the point it is stopping it from working. I took the car down a farm track today and the suspension was superb, ironically much better than the Tucson which was as stiff as anything.

    • @Matt-df6hz
      @Matt-df6hz 5 дней назад

      In terms of my subscriptions, what is questionable about them, please explain?

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow 5 дней назад

      @Matt-df6hz yes, as a motoring journalist with actual perspective, I find the clutch particularly frustrating. The main reason being, the Kia Stonic is a much better overall package, yet they are based on the same underpinnings. The Hyundai is so different to drive, not only the clutch, but the suspension and handling are not as good as the Kia. The Stonic comes with the torque vectoring from the i20N as standard. Why not on the Hyundai? It could have been so much better, and that’s the crux of the issue. The seat might be fine for you, that’s great, but my colleagues didn’t find it supportive either and we’re all different shapes and sizes. If we have to explain why someone who is old enough to drive, and presumably older than us, shouldn’t be watching the channels you are, then you’re a lost cause.

    The guy has no idea what he's talking about. I've driven the Ioniq 6, BYD, and Tesla 3, and the Tesla handles way better than the others. The only thing I agree with is that BMW has better handling, but we're talking about a car that's almost twice the price of a Tesla. Tesla is the lightest of all these electric cars, and you can feel it while driving, which is a huge advantage in terms of handling.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow 5 дней назад

      He sort of does, given this is his job… but agree to disagree. At least he knows the BMW isn’t twice the price, not even close. We had all three cars on test at the same time and it was a unanimous decision by the team on handling - the Tesla was not as good as the other two. If you bother to watch the full review, you’ll note Rob talks about the weight and its benefits during the driving segment.

    • @Uniol
      @Uniol 5 дней назад

      @@BuckleUpShow From dozens, if not more, reviews, opinions are completely different when it comes to handling, so your team's opinion stands in opposition to the opinions of truly respected automotive reviewers. You are not any authority on RUclips to make such definitive statements. I had the opportunity to test these cars myself and I agree with the rest of the automotive world that Tesla handles the best of the three. You can think whatever you want, but with such off-target and inaccurate theses, I don't predict success for this channel.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow 5 дней назад

      @Uniol can you sight any of these reviews please. We’d be very interested to hear who you consider ‘truly respected’. I’m sure we can find more than dozens of reviews where they agree with us too. Funnily enough, Rob was hanging out with the majority of the British motoring press this week, and they all thought the same way too. Fancy that. We in no way claim or have ever claimed to be an authority on RUclips, whatever that means, but if our opinions are worthless, then we dread to think how little you value your own opinion given you have absolutely zero ‘authority’ on road testing cars. Thank you for your well wishes, although we think the channel will probably manage without the backing of a fully paid up member of the Teslarati.

    Not sure why the boot space is considered poor. Everyone buys one knowing what's there and this is a small car so won't ever have much space. At least big guys can drive it!

My point is, I don't think anyone has ever been bothered about boot space in a hot hatch other than they know it's going to be small. A family of four isn't going to be buying a Cooper as their main car to use for family holidays and carrying equipment so I never understand why it's considered poor.

    I got use to the indicators to the point of preferring them for changing lanes. I like not having to take my hand off the steering wheel. It's muscle memory now to feel the dash imprint and press above or below for left or right. [I don't have many roundabouts near me so that aspect has been a nonissue.]
